How To Install comet-ms on Ubuntu 22.04

What is comet-ms
comet-ms is:
Comet is an open source tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) sequence database search engine. It identifies peptides by searching MS/MS spectra against sequences present in protein sequence databases.
This package ships a binary that does MS/MS database searches. Supported input formats are mzXML, mzML, and ms2 files. Supported output formats are .out, SQT, and pepXML.
There are three methods to install comet-ms on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install comet-ms Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install comet-ms using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install comet-ms

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install comet-ms using apt by running the following command:

Install comet-ms Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install comet-ms using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install comet-ms
How To Uninstall comet-ms on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the comet-ms package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove comet-ms

To uninstall comet-ms and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove comet-ms
Remove comet-ms Configurations and Data
To remove comet-ms configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge comet-ms

We can use the following command to remove comet-ms configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
