How To Install codeblocks on Ubuntu 18.04

What is codeblocks
codeblocks is:
Code::Blocks is a cross-platform Integrated Development Environment (IDE). It is based on a self-developed plugin framework allowing unlimited extensibility. Most of its functionality is already provided by plugins. Plugins included in the base package are: * Compiler frontend to many free compilers * Debugger frontend for GDB * Source formatter (based on AStyle) * Wizard to create new C++ classes * Code-completion / symbols-browser (work in progress) * Default MIME handler * Wizard to create new Code::Blocks plugins * To-do list * Extensible wizard based on scripts * Autosave (saves your work in the unfortunate case of a crash)
There are three methods to install codeblocks on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install codeblocks Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install codeblocks using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install codeblocks
Install codeblocks Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install codeblocks using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install codeblocks
Install codeblocks Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install codeblocks using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install codeblocks
How To Uninstall codeblocks on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the codeblocks package we can use the following command:

To uninstall codeblocks and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove codeblocks
Remove codeblocks Configurations and Data
To remove codeblocks configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge codeblocks
Remove codeblocks configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove codeblocks configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge codeblocks
