on CentOS 7.
What is cloud-init
Cloud-init is a set of init scripts for cloud instances. Cloud instances need special scripts to run during initialization to retrieve and install ssh keys and to let the user run various scripts.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install cloud-init
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install cloud-init.
Install cloud-init on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install cloud-init
using yum

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
