How To Install clawsker on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install clawsker on Kali Linux.
What is clawsker
Clawsker is an applet to edit the so called Claws Mail hidden preferences.
Claws Mail is a fast, lightweight and feature-rich MUA with a high number of configurable options. To keep the binary small and fast some of these preferences which not widely used are not provided with a graphical interface for inspection and/or modification.
Users wanting to edit such preferences had to face raw edition of their configuration files, now you can do it with a convenient GTK+3 interface using Clawsker. In addition to hidden preferences, windows positions and/or sizes and keyboard shortcuts can be edited.
There are three ways to install clawsker on Kali Linux . We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install clawsker Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install clawsker using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install clawsker
Install clawsker Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install clawsker using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install clawsker
Install clawsker Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install clawsker using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install clawsker
How To Uninstall clawsker on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the clawsker package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove clawsker
Uninstall clawsker And Its Dependencies
To uninstall clawsker and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove clawsker
Remove clawsker Configurations and Data
To remove clawsker configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge clawsker
Remove clawsker configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove clawsker configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge clawsker
