How To Install cl-swank on Debian 9
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install cl-swank
on Debian 9.
What is cl-swank
cl-swank is:
SLIME is the Superior Lisp Interaction Mode for Emacs.
This is an ILISP-like development environment intended for maximum integration with CMUCL (also works with SBCL, OpenMCL and work is ongoing on Lispworks and current CVS version of CLISP and CLISP 2.32 on Linux).
This package contains the Lisp-side server, needed by the Emacs client (see package slime).
There are three methods to install cl-swank
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get

and aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install cl-swank
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install cl-swank
How To Uninstall cl-swank on Debian 9
To uninstall only the cl-swank
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove cl-swank
Uninstall cl-swank And Its Dependencies
To uninstall cl-swank
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove cl-swank
Remove cl-swank Configurations and Data
To remove cl-swank
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge cl-swank
