How To Install cl-pgloader on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install cl-pgloader on Kali Linux.
What is cl-pgloader
cl-pgloader is:
pgloader imports data from different kind of sources and COPY it into PostgreSQL.
The command language is described in the manual page and allows one to describe where to find the data source, its format, and to describe data processing and transformation.
Supported source formats include CSV, fixed width flat files, dBase3 files (DBF), and SQLite and MySQL databases. In most of those formats, pgloader is able to auto-discover the schema and create the tables and the indexes in PostgreSQL. In the MySQL case it’s possible to edit CASTing rules from the pgloader command directly.
There are three methods to install cl-pgloader on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install cl-pgloader Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install cl-pgloader using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install cl-pgloaderInstall cl-pgloader Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install cl-pgloader using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install cl-pgloaderInstall cl-pgloader Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install cl-pgloader using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install cl-pgloaderHow To Uninstall cl-pgloader on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the cl-pgloader package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove cl-pgloaderUninstall cl-pgloader And Its Dependencies
To uninstall cl-pgloader and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove cl-pgloaderRemove cl-pgloader Configurations and Data
To remove cl-pgloader configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge cl-pgloaderRemove cl-pgloader configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove cl-pgloader configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge cl-pgloaderDependencies
