In this tutorial we learn how to install cl-chipz on Ubuntu 22.04.

What is cl-chipz

cl-chipz is:

DEFLATE data, defined in RFC1951, forms the core of popular compression formats such as zlib (RFC 1950) and gzip (RFC 1952). As such, Chipz also provides for decompressing data in those formats as well. BZIP2 is the format used by the popular compression tool bzip2.

Chipz is the reading complement to Salza (provided by cl-salza2 package).

There are three methods to install cl-chipz on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install cl-chipz Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install cl-chipz using apt-get by running the following command:
