How To Install chasquid on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install chasquid
on Kali Linux.
What is chasquid
chasquid is an SMTP (email) server with a focus on simplicity, security, and ease of operation.
It’s written in Go, and is open source under the Apache license 2.0.
It is currently in beta: it’s functional and has had some production exposure, but some things may still change in backwards-incompatible ways, including the configuration format. It should be rare and will be avoided if possible.
There are three ways to install chasquid
on Kali Linux . We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install chasquid Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install chasquid
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install chasquid
Install chasquid Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install chasquid
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install chasquid
Install chasquid Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install chasquid
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install chasquid
How To Uninstall chasquid on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the chasquid
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove chasquid
Uninstall chasquid And Its Dependencies
To uninstall chasquid
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove chasquid
Remove chasquid Configurations and Data
To remove chasquid
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge chasquid
Remove chasquid configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove chasquid
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge chasquid
