How To Install chado-utils on Kali Linux

What is chado-utils
chado-utils is:
This package contains several tools that can be used to extract data from Chado database or prepare data before upload. It is a subset above the Chado database schema and libraries.
Chado is a relational database schema that underlies many GMOD installations. It is capable of representing many of the general classes of data frequently encountered in modern biology such as sequence, sequence comparisons, phenotypes, genotypes, ontologies, publications, and phylogeny.
There are three methods to install chado-utils
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install chado-utils Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install chado-utils
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install chado-utils

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install chado-utils
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install chado-utils
Install chado-utils Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install chado-utils
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install chado-utils
How To Uninstall chado-utils on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the chado-utils
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove chado-utils
Uninstall chado-utils And Its Dependencies
To uninstall chado-utils
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove chado-utils
Remove chado-utils Configurations and Data
To remove chado-utils
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge chado-utils
