What is centos-logos

The redhat-logos package (the “Package”) contains files created by the CentOS Project to replace the Red Hat “Shadow Man” logo and RPM logo. The Red Hat “Shadow Man” logo, RPM, and the RPM logo are trademarks or registered trademarks of Red Hat, Inc. The Package and CentOS logos (the “Marks”) can only used as outlined in the included COPYING file. Please see that file for information on copying and redistribution of the CentOS Marks.

We can use yum or dnf to install centos-logos on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install centos-logos.

Install centos-logos on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install centos-logos using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install centos-logos

Install centos-logos on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install centos-logos using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install centos-logos

How To Uninstall centos-logos on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the centos-logos package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove centos-logos
