How To Install cdtool on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install cdtool on Kali Linux.
What is cdtool
cdtool is:
cdtool contains cdplay, cdeject, cdstop, cdpause, and several other programs for playing audio CDs and controlling a CD-ROM drive from the command line and in a quick and scriptable way.
cdown reads track info and queries a CDDB database for info on the current CD. cdctrl is a command line utility for controlling a CD-ROM drive interactively and from scripts. cdir keeps track of the contents of different CDs using a workman-compatible database.
There are three methods to install cdtool on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install cdtool Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install cdtool using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install cdtoolInstall cdtool Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install cdtool using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install cdtool using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the cdtool package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove cdtoolUninstall cdtool And Its Dependencies
To uninstall cdtool and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove cdtoolRemove cdtool Configurations and Data
To remove cdtool configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge cdtoolRemove cdtool configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove cdtool configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
