What is cdrdao

Cdrdao records audio CD-Rs in disk-at-once (DAO) mode, based on a textual description of the CD contents. Recording in DAO mode writes the complete disc (lead-in, one or more tracks, and lead-out) in a single step. DAO allows full control over the length and the contents of pre-gaps, the pause areas between tracks.

We can use yum or dnf to install cdrdao on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install cdrdao.

Install cdrdao on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install cdrdao using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install cdrdao

Install cdrdao on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install cdrdao using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install cdrdao

How To Uninstall cdrdao on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the cdrdao package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove cdrdao
