How To Install cconv on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install cconv on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is cconv
cconv is:
The Chinese national GB standard defines a basic set of (around 6,000) characters for use with Simplified Chinese writing that does not include many of the characters in the Taiwanese industry standard for Traditional Chinese called Big5 (around 13,000 characters in the basic set). Unicode is however a superset of both with all duplication removed down to the level of detail described above.
This tool is used for converting a UTF-8 string which combining both Simplified Chinese characters and Traditional Chinese charcters directly into one type Chinese chareacters.
There are three methods to install cconv on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install cconv Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install cconv using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install cconv
Install cconv Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install cconv using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install cconv
Install cconv Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install cconv using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install cconv
How To Uninstall cconv on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the cconv package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove cconv
Uninstall cconv And Its Dependencies
To uninstall cconv and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove cconv
Remove cconv Configurations and Data
To remove cconv configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge cconv
Remove cconv configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove cconv configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge cconv
