How To Install cclib on Debian 12
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install cclib on Debian 12.
What is cclib
cclib is:
A Python library that provides parsers for computational chemistry log files. It also provides a platform to implement algorithms in a package-independent manner.
This package contains helper scripts for end users.
If you are looking for the unit tests and data files managed by cclib, they are distributed separately as in non-free package cclib-data.
There are three methods to install cclib on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install cclib Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install cclib using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install cclib
