In this tutorial we learn how to install cbedic on Ubuntu 22.04.

What is cbedic

cbedic is:

CBE Dictionary is a command-line Bulgarian to English and English to Bulgarian electronic Dictionary. It can work in interactive mode too.

The dictionary databases are not included in this package. You have to download bedic-data-4.0.tar.gz from http://kbedic.sourceforge.net. Install the files bg_en.dat and en_bg.dat in /usr/local/share/bedic.

There are three methods to install cbedic on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install cbedic Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install cbedic using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install cbedic
