How To Install catimg on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install catimg on Kali Linux.

What is catimg

catimg is:

catimg is a little program written in C with no dependencies that prints images in terminal. It supports JPEG, PNG, ICO and GIF formats.

You will need a 256 color terminal in order to use this program. For higher resolution images, you need unicode support.

There are three methods to install catimg on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install catimg Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install catimg using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install catimg
