What is camlp4

camlp4 is:

Camlp4 is a software system for writing extensible parsers for programming languages. It provides a set of OCaml libraries that are used to define grammars as well as loadable syntax extensions of such grammars. Camlp4 stands for Caml Preprocessor and Pretty-Printer and one of its most important applications is the definition of domain-specific extensions of the syntax of OCaml.

This package contains CamlP4 executables for pre-processing and pretty-printing OCaml sources both interactively and in a batch fashion.

There are three methods to install camlp4 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install camlp4 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install camlp4 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install camlp4

After updating apt database, We can install camlp4 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install camlp4

Install camlp4 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install camlp4 using aptitude by running the following command:
