How To Install camitk-imp on Ubuntu 20.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install camitk-imp on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is camitk-imp
camitk-imp is:
CamiTK helps researchers and clinicians to easily and rapidly collaborate in order to prototype CAMI applications, that feature medical images, surgical navigation and biomechanical simulations.
camitk-imp is the CamiTK workbench application where you can test all available extensions for prototyping. It provides an easy and interactive access to all available data and algorithm parameters, including the one you build yourself using the CamiTK SDK.
For example, camitk-imp can visualize medical images from a lot of different (standard) formats, offers image processing and segmentation algorithms to reconstruct a mesh geometry and run a biomechanical simulation.
There are three methods to install camitk-imp on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install camitk-imp Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install camitk-imp using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install camitk-imp
Install camitk-imp Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install camitk-imp using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install camitk-imp
Install camitk-imp Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install camitk-imp using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install camitk-imp
How To Uninstall camitk-imp on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the camitk-imp package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove camitk-imp
Uninstall camitk-imp And Its Dependencies
To uninstall camitk-imp and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove camitk-imp
Remove camitk-imp Configurations and Data
To remove camitk-imp configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge camitk-imp
Remove camitk-imp configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove camitk-imp configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge camitk-imp
