How To Install callisto on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install callisto
on Kali Linux.
What is callisto
This is a daemon program that records data from the Callisto hardware. It supports continuous uncalibrated recording (mode 3) and spectral overviews (mode 8). To use the software, a Callisto configuration file (callisto.cfg) and frequency file (frqXXXXX.cfg) are also needed.
e-Callisto is a world wide network you can contribute to with an Callisto installation.
There are three ways to install callisto
on Kali Linux . We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install callisto Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install callisto
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install callisto

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install callisto
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install callisto
Install callisto Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install callisto

How To Uninstall callisto on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the callisto
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove callisto
