How To Install calculix-cgx on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install calculix-cgx on Kali Linux.
What is calculix-cgx
calculix-cgx is:
CalculiX GraphiX (cgx) is a 3-dimensional pre- and post-processor for finite elemnts. CalculiX CrunchiX Finite Element Models can be build, calculated and post-processed. The pre- and post-processor is an interactive 3D-tool using the openGL API.
In addition to the Calculix CrunchiX results files (frd) results from OpenFoam, Duns (2D and 3D), Isaac (2D and 3D) and Nastran (f06) can be read. For preprocessing Netgen nativ format, STEP and STL can be imported.
There are three methods to install calculix-cgx on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install calculix-cgx Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install calculix-cgx using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install calculix-cgxInstall calculix-cgx Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install calculix-cgx using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install calculix-cgxInstall calculix-cgx Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install calculix-cgx using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install calculix-cgxHow To Uninstall calculix-cgx on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the calculix-cgx package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove calculix-cgxUninstall calculix-cgx And Its Dependencies
To uninstall calculix-cgx and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove calculix-cgxRemove calculix-cgx Configurations and Data
To remove calculix-cgx configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge calculix-cgxRemove calculix-cgx configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove calculix-cgx configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge calculix-cgxDependencies
