How To Install caja-mediainfo on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install caja-mediainfo on Kali Linux.
What is caja-mediainfo
Caja is the official file manager for the MATE desktop. It allows one to browse directories, preview files and launch applications associated with them. It is also responsible for handling the icons on the MATE desktop. It works on local and remote filesystems.
With this extension, you can view media information from the Caja file properties tab.
There are three ways to install caja-mediainfo on Kali Linux . We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install caja-mediainfo Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install caja-mediainfo using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install caja-mediainfo
Install caja-mediainfo Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install caja-mediainfo using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install caja-mediainfo
Install caja-mediainfo Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install caja-mediainfo using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install caja-mediainfo
How To Uninstall caja-mediainfo on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the caja-mediainfo package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove caja-mediainfo

To uninstall caja-mediainfo and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove caja-mediainfo

To remove caja-mediainfo configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge caja-mediainfo
