How To Install c-icap on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install c-icap on Kali Linux.
What is c-icap
c-icap is:
C-ICAP is an implementation of an ICAP server. It can be used with HTTP proxies that support the ICAP protocol to implement content adaptation and filtering services.
Most of the commercial HTTP proxies must support the ICAP protocol. The open source Squid 3.x proxy server supports it.
This Package contains the core ICAP daemon
There are three methods to install c-icap on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install c-icap Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install c-icap using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install c-icapInstall c-icap Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install c-icap using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install c-icapInstall c-icap Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install c-icap using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install c-icapHow To Uninstall c-icap on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the c-icap package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove c-icapUninstall c-icap And Its Dependencies
To uninstall c-icap and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove c-icapRemove c-icap Configurations and Data
To remove c-icap configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge c-icapRemove c-icap configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove c-icap configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge c-icapDependencies
