How To Install bzflag-server on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install bzflag-server on Kali Linux.
What is bzflag-server
bzflag-server is:
bzfs is the server for BZFlag, and it must be running to play. It can be run on any system on the network (including a player’s system or one without graphics). You need to install this package if you wish to:
- play by yourself
- play amongst a small group of people on a private network
- provide a server so that anyone on the Internet may play with you
There are three methods to install bzflag-server on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install bzflag-server Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install bzflag-server using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install bzflag-serverInstall bzflag-server Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install bzflag-server using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install bzflag-serverInstall bzflag-server Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install bzflag-server using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install bzflag-serverHow To Uninstall bzflag-server on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the bzflag-server package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove bzflag-serverUninstall bzflag-server And Its Dependencies
To uninstall bzflag-server and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove bzflag-serverRemove bzflag-server Configurations and Data
To remove bzflag-server configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge bzflag-serverRemove bzflag-server configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
