How To Install bwctl-client on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install bwctl-client
on Kali Linux.
What is bwctl-client
The Bwctl suite works with nuttcp and iperf to test bandwidth without the need for a shell account on the remote systems.
This package contains the command line tool for scheduling and controlling tests. It requires the bwctl-server package to be installed on the hosts at both ends of the network that you are trying to test.
There are three ways to install bwctl-client
on Kali Linux . We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install bwctl-client Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install bwctl-client
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install bwctl-client
Install bwctl-client Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install bwctl-client
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install bwctl-client
Install bwctl-client Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install bwctl-client
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install bwctl-client
How To Uninstall bwctl-client on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the bwctl-client
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove bwctl-client
Uninstall bwctl-client And Its Dependencies
To uninstall bwctl-client
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove bwctl-client
Remove bwctl-client Configurations and Data
To remove bwctl-client
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge bwctl-client
Remove bwctl-client configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove bwctl-client
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge bwctl-client
