In this tutorial we learn how to install buildah
on CentOS 7.
What is buildah
The buildah package provides a command line tool which can be used to * create a working container from scratch or * create a working container from an image as a starting point * mount/umount a working container’s root file system for manipulation * save container’s root file system layer to create a new image * delete a working container or an image
We can use yum
or dnf
to install buildah
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install buildah.
Install buildah on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install buildah
using yum
by running the following command:

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
