How To Install brasero on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install brasero
on Kali Linux.
What is brasero
Brasero is a simple application to burn, copy and erase CD and DVD media: audio, video or data. It features among other things:
- On-the-fly burning
- Multisession support
- On-the-fly conversion of music playlists in all formats supported by GStreamer
This package contains the standalone app.
The following packages, if installed, will provide Brasero with added functionality:
- cdrdao to burn combined data/audio CDs and for byte-to-byte copy
- GStreamer backends to support more audio formats
- vcdimager to create VCDs or SVCDs
- libdvdcss2 to copy encrypted DVDs
- tracker to search for video, audio, image and document files
There are three ways to install brasero
on Kali Linux . We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install brasero Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install brasero
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install brasero
Install brasero Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install brasero
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install brasero
Install brasero Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install brasero
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install brasero
How To Uninstall brasero on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the brasero
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove brasero
Uninstall brasero And Its Dependencies
To uninstall brasero
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove brasero
Remove brasero Configurations and Data
To remove brasero
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge brasero
Remove brasero configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove brasero
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge brasero
