In this tutorial we learn how to install bouncycastle-pg on CentOS 7.

What is bouncycastle-pg

The Bouncy Castle Java API for handling the OpenPGP protocol. This jar contains the OpenPGP API for JDK 1.5 to JDK 1.8. The APIs can be used in conjunction with a JCE/JCA provider such as the one provided with the Bouncy Castle Cryptography APIs.

We can use yum or dnf to install bouncycastle-pg on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install bouncycastle-pg.

Install bouncycastle-pg on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install bouncycastle-pg using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install bouncycastle-pg

Install bouncycastle-pg on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install bouncycastle-pg using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install bouncycastle-pg

How To Uninstall bouncycastle-pg on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the bouncycastle-pg package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove bouncycastle-pg
