How To Install bosh on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install bosh on Kali Linux.
What is bosh
bosh is:
bosh stands for browsable output shell. This is a bit of a misnomer because it isn’t really a shell. What is does is store the output of a specified program in a buffer, and provides a simple curses interface to browse this buffer. Actions can be configured which can make use of the contents of the currently selected line.
Commands and actions are stored in bosh configuration files. These can include shebang line (#!/usr/bin/bosh) so that the configuration can just be run from the command-line.
There are three methods to install bosh on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install bosh Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install bosh using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install boshInstall bosh Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install bosh using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install boshInstall bosh Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install bosh using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install boshHow To Uninstall bosh on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the bosh package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove boshUninstall bosh And Its Dependencies
To uninstall bosh and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove boshRemove bosh Configurations and Data
To remove bosh configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge boshRemove bosh configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove bosh configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge boshDependencies
