What is booth-pacemaker

booth-pacemaker is:

Booth manages tickets which authorize cluster sites located in geographically dispersed locations to run resources. It facilitates support of geographically distributed clustering in Pacemaker.

Booth is based on the Raft consensus algorithm. Though the implementation is not complete (there is no log) and there are a few additions and modifications, booth guarantees that a ticket is always available at just one site as long as it has exclusive control of the tickets.

This package contains the integration script for booth to run as part of a Pacemaker cluster.

There are three methods to install booth-pacemaker on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install booth-pacemaker Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install booth-pacemaker using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install booth-pacemaker

Install booth-pacemaker Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install booth-pacemaker using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install booth-pacemaker

Install booth-pacemaker Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install booth-pacemaker using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install booth-pacemaker

We can use the following command to remove booth-pacemaker configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
