What is boost169
Boost provides free peer-reviewed portable C++ source libraries. The emphasis is on libraries which work well with the C++ Standard Library, in the hopes of establishing “existing practice” for extensions and providing reference implementations so that the Boost libraries are suitable for eventual standardization. (Some of the libraries have already been included in the C++ 2011 standard and others have been proposed to the C++ Standards Committee for inclusion in future standards.)
We can use yum or dnf to install boost169 on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install boost169.
Install boost169 on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install boost169 using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install boost169
Install boost169 on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install boost169 using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install boost169
How To Uninstall boost169 on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the boost169 package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove boost169
