How To Install boost-thread on AlmaLinux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install boost-thread on AlmaLinux 8.
What is boost-thread
Run-time component Boost.Thread library, which provides classes and functions for managing multiple threads of execution, and for synchronizing data between the threads or providing separate copies of data specific to individual threads.
We can use yum or dnf to install boost-thread on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install boost-thread.
Install boost-thread on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install boost-thread using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install boost-thread
Install boost-thread on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install boost-thread using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install boost-thread
How To Uninstall boost-thread on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the boost-thread package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove boost-thread
