What is boost-nowide
Boost.Nowide is a library implemented by Artyom Beilis that makes cross platform Unicode aware programming easier. The library provides an implementation of standard C and C++ library functions, such that their inputs are UTF-8 aware on Windows without requiring to use Wide API.
We can use yum or dnf to install boost-nowide on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install boost-nowide.
Install boost-nowide on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install boost-nowide using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install boost-nowide
Install boost-nowide on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install boost-nowide using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install boost-nowide
How To Uninstall boost-nowide on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the boost-nowide package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove boost-nowide
