How To Install boost on CentOS 7
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install boost
on CentOS 7.
What is boost
Boost provides free peer-reviewed portable C++ source libraries. The emphasis is on libraries which work well with the C++ Standard Library, in the hopes of establishing “existing practice” for extensions and providing reference implementations so that the Boost libraries are suitable for eventual standardization. (Some of the libraries have already been included in the C++ 2011 standard and others have been proposed to the C++ Standards Committee for inclusion in future standards.) We can use yum
or dnf
to install boost
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install boost.
Install boost on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install boost
using yum
by running the following command:

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
