How To Install boinc on Kali Linux

The Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing (BOINC) is a software platform for distributed computing: several initiatives of various scientific disciplines all compete for the idle time of desktop computers. The developers’ web site at the University of Berkeley serves as a common portal to the otherwise independently run projects.
This package depends both on the BOINC core client program that is required to participate in any project that uses BOINC, and the BOINC Manager, a graphical monitor and control utility for the BOINC core client.
There are three methods to install boinc on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install boinc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install boinc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install boincInstall boinc Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install boinc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install boincInstall boinc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install boinc using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install boincHow To Uninstall boinc on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the boinc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove boincUninstall boinc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall boinc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove boincRemove boinc Configurations and Data
To remove boinc configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge boincRemove boinc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove boinc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge boincDependencies
