Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install blis-serial64 on CentOS 7.

What is blis-serial64

BLIS is a portable software framework for instantiating high-performance BLAS-like dense linear algebra libraries. The framework was designed to isolate essential kernels of computation that, when optimized, immediately enable optimized implementations of most of its commonly used and computationally intensive operations. While BLIS exports a new BLAS-like API, it also includes a BLAS compatibility layer which gives application developers access to BLIS implementations via traditional BLAS routine calls. This packaging contains automatically-dispatched architecture-optimized kernels for some targets, notably recent x86_64. This is the serial version with a 64-bit integer interface.

We can use yum or dnf to install blis-serial64 on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install blis-serial64.

Install blis-serial64 on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install blis-serial64 using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install blis-serial64

Install blis-serial64 on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install blis-serial64 using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install blis-serial64

How To Uninstall blis-serial64 on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the blis-serial64 package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove blis-serial64
