What is bleachbit
bleachbit is:
BleachBit deletes unnecessary files to free valuable disk space, maintain privacy, and remove junk. It removes cache, Internet history, temporary files, cookies, and broken shortcuts.
It handles cleaning of Adobe Reader, Bash, Beagle, Epiphany, Firefox, Flash, GIMP, Google Earth, Java, KDE, OpenOffice.org, Opera, RealPlayer, rpmbuild, Second Life Viewer, VIM, XChat, and more.
Beyond simply erasing junk files, BleachBit wipes free disk space (to hide previously deleted files for privacy and to improve compression of images), vacuums Firefox databases (to improve performance without deleting data), and securely shreds arbitrary files.
There are three methods to install bleachbit on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install bleachbit Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install bleachbit using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install bleachbitInstall bleachbit Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the bleachbit package we can use the following command:

To uninstall bleachbit and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove bleachbitRemove bleachbit Configurations and Data
To remove bleachbit configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge bleachbitRemove bleachbit configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
