How To Install bioperl on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install bioperl on Kali Linux.

The Bioperl project is a coordinated effort to collect computational methods routinely used in bioinformatics into a set of standard CPAN-style, well-documented, and freely available Perl modules. It is well-accepted throughout the community and used in many high-profile projects, e.g., Ensembl.
The recommended packages are needed to run some of the included binaries, for a detailed explanation including the specific Perl modules please see README.Debian.
The suggested package enhances the manual pages.
There are three methods to install bioperl on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install bioperl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install bioperl using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install bioperlInstall bioperl Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install bioperl using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the bioperl package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove bioperlUninstall bioperl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall bioperl and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove bioperlRemove bioperl Configurations and Data
To remove bioperl configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge bioperlRemove bioperl configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
