How To Install bionetgen on CentOS 7
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install bionetgen
on CentOS 7.
What is bionetgen
BioNetGen is software for the specification and simulation of rule-based models of biochemical systems, including signal transduction, metabolic, and genetic regulatory networks. The BioNetGen language has recently been extended to include explicit representation of compartments. A review of methods for rule-based modeling is available in Science Signaling (Sci. STKE, 18 July 2006, Issue 344, p. re6). BioNetGen is presently a mixture of Perl and C++. Network generation is currently implemented in Perl, the network simulator is C++, and a new language parser is being developed with ANTLR.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install bionetgen
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install bionetgen.
Install bionetgen on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install bionetgen
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install bionetgen
Install bionetgen on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install bionetgen
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install bionetgen
How To Uninstall bionetgen on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the bionetgen
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove bionetgen
