How To Install biometric-auth on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install biometric-auth on Kali Linux.
What is biometric-auth
biometric-auth is:
The service layer of the biometric identification authentication framework. The service layer uses the DBus bus to provide the upper application with operation interfaces such as feature enroll, feature verify, feature identify, feature search, feature delete, etc. Meanwhile, it also provides notification of device status changes event and notification of USB device hotplug event.
This package contains a library for biometric authentication.
There are three methods to install biometric-auth on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install biometric-auth Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install biometric-auth using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install biometric-authInstall biometric-auth Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install biometric-auth using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install biometric-authInstall biometric-auth Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install biometric-auth using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install biometric-authHow To Uninstall biometric-auth on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the biometric-auth package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove biometric-authUninstall biometric-auth And Its Dependencies
To uninstall biometric-auth and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove biometric-authRemove biometric-auth Configurations and Data
To remove biometric-auth configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge biometric-authRemove biometric-auth configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove biometric-auth configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge biometric-authDependencies
