How To Install binutils-multiarch on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install binutils-multiarch on Kali Linux.
What is binutils-multiarch
binutils-multiarch is:
The programs in this package are used to manipulate binary and object files that may have been created on other architectures. This package is primarily for multi-architecture developers and cross-compilers and is not needed by normal users or developers. Note that a cross-assembling version of gas is not included in this package, just the binary utilities.
NORMAL USERS SHOULD NOT INSTALL THIS PACKAGE. It’s meant only for those requiring support for reading info from binaries from other architectures.
There are three methods to install binutils-multiarch on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install binutils-multiarch Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install binutils-multiarch using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install binutils-multiarchInstall binutils-multiarch Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install binutils-multiarch using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the binutils-multiarch package we can use the following command:

To uninstall binutils-multiarch and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove binutils-multiarchRemove binutils-multiarch Configurations and Data
To remove binutils-multiarch configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge binutils-multiarchRemove binutils-multiarch configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove binutils-multiarch configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
