In this tutorial we learn how to install bdii
on Rocky Linux 8.
What is bdii
The Berkeley Database Information Index (BDII) consists of a standard LDAP database which is updated by an external process. The update process obtains LDIF from a number of sources and merges them. It then compares this to the contents of the database and creates an LDIF file of the differences. This is then used to update the database.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install bdii
on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install bdii.
Install bdii on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install bdii
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install bdii
Install bdii on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install bdii
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install bdii
How To Uninstall bdii on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the bdii
