How To Install bbrun on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install bbrun on Kali Linux.
What is bbrun
bbrun is:
bbrun is a small but very useful application. It makes it convenient to quickly execute commands from the blackbox window manager. bbrun is very similar to KDE’s Alt+F2 Run Command dialog box. When launched, it occupies a small portion of the desktop and docks itself to the right side of the screen. The run dialog is opened by clicking a tiny bbrun icon.
You don’t necessarily need blackbox for this program to work. It looks just as good in fluxbox, but it won’t look the same in other window managers.
There are three methods to install bbrun on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install bbrun Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install bbrun using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install bbrunInstall bbrun Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install bbrun using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install bbrunInstall bbrun Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install bbrun using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install bbrunHow To Uninstall bbrun on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the bbrun package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove bbrunUninstall bbrun And Its Dependencies
To uninstall bbrun and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove bbrunRemove bbrun Configurations and Data
To remove bbrun configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge bbrunRemove bbrun configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove bbrun configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge bbrunDependencies
