How To Install bash on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install bash on Kali Linux.
What is bash
bash is:
Bash is an sh-compatible command language interpreter that executes commands read from the standard input or from a file. Bash also incorporates useful features from the Korn and C shells (ksh and csh).
Bash is ultimately intended to be a conformant implementation of the IEEE POSIX Shell and Tools specification (IEEE Working Group 1003.2).
The Programmable Completion Code, by Ian Macdonald, is now found in the bash-completion package.
There are three methods to install bash on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install bash Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install bash using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install bashInstall bash Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.

To uninstall only the bash package we can use the following command:

To uninstall bash and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

To remove bash configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge bashRemove bash configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
