What is bandit

bandit is:

Bandit is a tool designed to find common security issues in Python code. To do this Bandit processes each file, builds an Abstract Syntaxt Tree (AST), and runs appropriate plugins against the AST nodes. Once Bandit has finished scanning all the files it generates a report.

This package is a metapackage to install the Python 2.7 or 3.x of bandit.

There are three methods to install bandit on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install bandit Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install bandit using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install bandit
