In this tutorial we learn how to install axiom-test on Kali Linux.

What is axiom-test

axiom-test is:

Axiom is useful for research and development of mathematical algorithms. It defines a strongly typed, mathematically correct type hierarchy. It has a programming language and a built-in compiler.

Axiom has been in development since 1973 and was sold as a commercial product. It has been released as free software.

Efforts are underway to extend this software to (a) develop a better user interface (b) make it useful as a teaching tool (c) develop an algebra server protocol (d) integrate additional mathematics (e) rebuild the algebra in a literate programming style (f) integrate logic programming (g) develop an Axiom Journal with refereed submissions.

This package contains input files for Axiom’s regression test suite.

There are three methods to install axiom-test on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install axiom-test Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install axiom-test using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install axiom-test

Install axiom-test Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install axiom-test using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install axiom-test

Install axiom-test Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install axiom-test using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install axiom-test

How To Uninstall axiom-test on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the axiom-test package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove axiom-test

To uninstall axiom-test and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove axiom-test

Remove axiom-test Configurations and Data

To remove axiom-test configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge axiom-test
