How To Install avahi-dnsconfd on Kali Linux

What is avahi-dnsconfd
avahi-dnsconfd is:
Avahi is a fully LGPL framework for Multicast DNS Service Discovery. It allows programs to publish and discover services and hosts running on a local network with no specific configuration. For example you can plug into a network and instantly find printers to print to, files to look at and people to talk to.
This tool listens on the network for announced DNS servers and passes them to resolvconf so it can use them. This is very useful on autoconfigured IPv6 networks.
There are three methods to install avahi-dnsconfd
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install avahi-dnsconfd Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install avahi-dnsconfd
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install avahi-dnsconfd

Update apt database with apt

After updating apt database, We can install avahi-dnsconfd

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install avahi-dnsconfd

How To Uninstall avahi-dnsconfd on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the avahi-dnsconfd
