How To Install avahi-daemon on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install avahi-daemon on Kali Linux.
What is avahi-daemon
avahi-daemon is:
Avahi is a fully LGPL framework for Multicast DNS Service Discovery. It allows programs to publish and discover services and hosts running on a local network with no specific configuration. For example you can plug into a network and instantly find printers to print to, files to look at and people to talk to.
This package contains the Avahi Daemon which represents your machine on the network and allows other applications to publish and resolve mDNS/DNS-SD records.
There are three methods to install avahi-daemon on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install avahi-daemon Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install avahi-daemon using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install avahi-daemonInstall avahi-daemon Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install avahi-daemon using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install avahi-daemonInstall avahi-daemon Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install avahi-daemon using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the avahi-daemon package we can use the following command:

To remove avahi-daemon configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
