How To Install autoclass on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install autoclass on Kali Linux.

What is autoclass

autoclass is:

AutoClass solves the problem of automatic discovery of classes in data (sometimes called clustering, or unsupervised learning), as distinct from the generation of class descriptions from labeled examples (called supervised learning). It aims to discover the “natural” classes in the data. AutoClass is applicable to observations of things that can be described by a set of attributes, without referring to other things. The data values corresponding to each attribute are limited to be either numbers or the elements of a fixed set of symbols. With numeric data, a measurement error must be provided.

There are three methods to install autoclass on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install autoclass Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install autoclass using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install autoclass

Install autoclass Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install autoclass using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install autoclass

Install autoclass Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install autoclass using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install autoclass

How To Uninstall autoclass on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the autoclass package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove autoclass

Uninstall autoclass And Its Dependencies

To uninstall autoclass and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove autoclass

Remove autoclass Configurations and Data

To remove autoclass configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge autoclass

Remove autoclass configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove autoclass configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge autoclass
