How To Install atk on AlmaLinux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install atk on AlmaLinux 8.
What is atk
The ATK library provides a set of interfaces for adding accessibility support to applications and graphical user interface toolkits. By supporting the ATK interfaces, an application or toolkit can be used with tools such as screen readers, magnifiers, and alternative input devices.
We can use yum or dnf to install atk on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install atk.
Install atk on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install atk using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install atk
Install atk on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install atk using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install atk
How To Uninstall atk on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the atk package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove atk
