How To Install astro-tasks on Kali Linux

What is astro-tasks
astro-tasks is:
Debian Astro is a “Debian Pure Blend” with the aim to develop a Debian based operating system that fits the requirements of both professional and hobby astronomers. It integrates a large number of software packages covering telescope control, data reduction, presentation and other fields.
If this package will be installed all tasks which are provided by Debian Astro will be added to the tasksel menu.
There are three methods to install astro-tasks
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install astro-tasks Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install astro-tasks
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install astro-tasks
Install astro-tasks Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install astro-tasks
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install astro-tasks
Install astro-tasks Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install astro-tasks
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install astro-tasks
How To Uninstall astro-tasks on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the astro-tasks
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove astro-tasks
Uninstall astro-tasks And Its Dependencies
To uninstall astro-tasks
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove astro-tasks
Remove astro-tasks Configurations and Data
To remove astro-tasks
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge astro-tasks
Remove astro-tasks configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
